Candidate for Atherstone Central
I am pleased to have been selected to stand as your Labour Party Candidate in Atherstone Central Ward for May 2019.
I have lived in Atherstone for 30 years, working first at the hat factory. I met my husband there and established my family here.
I am now a qualified Operating Theatre Practitioner and presently work at the George Eliot Hospital. I have strongly supported the recent successful campaign to prevent our hospital being privatised but I am still worried about the condition of the Health Service under the Conservatives.
If elected to the Borough Council, along with my Labour colleagues, we’ll stop the plans to build 10,000 homes along the A5 without any real infrastructure. I’ll work to bring Long Street back to life, guaranteeing free parking for shoppers and investment in our town. I’ll work with the Council to deliver more council housing for our kids and support for the most vulnerable.
