Candidate for Kingsbury
As a working mother I know first-hand how important our local medical and children services are for local people. I benefited greatly from the public services that are so vital for residents of Kingsbury. It is vital that we protect these services for both current and future generations. Our parks and green spaces are important as well and we need to ensure that these areas are enhanced in the coming years, not left to decline because of Government cuts to local Council budgets.
I work as a Primary School teacher so I see first-hand how services that existed just a few years ago, have declined or disappeared altogether in some cases. Without good quality accessible public services, the most vulnerable in society get left behind and once that happens, it’s so much harder to repair the damage in later life.
Kingsbury is a fantastic village but it needs strong representation on the Borough Council. It needs a champion. It needs someone who will fight for what is right for local people, not just vote for something because a political party decides it’s a good idea. I can be that person and working with my college Simon O’Keefe, we can provide that strong voice for local people.
We must protect our rural nature and heritage at all costs whilst exploring opportunities for improving the village. A case needs to be made to reduce the impact of building works for those in Kingsbury and to conserving the larger area as a whole, which is being used as a Conservative building site for logistical warehousing and infrastructure, increasing traffic flow through North Warwickshire.
A vote for me in next May’s council election will be a vote for Kingsbury to get it’s voice back at North Warwickshire Borough Council.
