Exhall: Helen Sinclair
I am your Labour candidate for Exhall In May 2021. I have been a labour supporter for many years and have campaigned in several elections.
I have 30 year of experience as a Mental Health nurse and know we face a mental health crisis in our communities. I will work to make your mental health and wellbeing a priority. If we do not function as healthy adults we cannot nature our future.
We face unprecedented times that will impact at a local level for many years to come.
Exhall as part of Bedworth faces all the implications from recent housing applications. The roads are already unsafe despite years of Tory promises and the green belt is ever diminishing.
I am passionate about our environment and as a keen scuba diver I have seen beneath the sea the effect of years of neglect on our environment. As the population in the area is set to rise by an estimated 10,000 in the next 20 years the necessity to build affordable homes is not going to disappear.
My pledge is to work to ensure that environmental issues are given priority in building developments and ensure developers observe mitigation measures proposed by others.
Building developments give rise to a need to ensure that our local health and education services are sufficient to meet demand. One key aspect of this is the children whose lives will have been, possibly irreparably affected by the ramifications of Covid-19.
As a survivor of sexual abuse in childhood I have first-hand experience of how neglect and abuse can affect a young persons for life. I will work with children and domestic abuse services to build a strategy of recovery.
I ask for your vote as I cannot do any of these things without it.
