Bede: Bill Hancox
'It is a great honour and privilege to be of service to the Town and people of Bedworth and , if elected, I will ensure that the views of the residents of Bede Ward and Bedworth are voiced strongly on the Council.'
“I am delighted to have been selected as the Labour Party candidate for Bede Ward.
Married, with two daughters and 5 grandchildren, all living in Bede Ward I know first hand many of the issues affecting us as residents. I have the necessary skills, knowledge and expertise which, if elected, will enable me to represent the residents of Bede ward effectively.
I have worked hard to achieve new Council housing in Bede Ward, working with the local Residents Association enhanced Bailey Park, Bedworth Cricket Club (Bedworth Sports Hub) has new improved facilities and continuing to work with them, I look forward to new tennis and netball courts. Church Walk, following my representations, is now much improved and attractive by having a new footpath, new benches, new bins, works to the landscaping and new planting / knee rails around the carpark.
For the future, I look forward to a new Bedworth Leisure Centre / physical activity hub and other facilities being built. I will continue to support ambitious community initiatives such as the proposed new Peace Podium that the Bedworth Armistice Committee seek to install at Rye Piece.
Bedworth is a strong, caring community and it needs to maintain its own identity within the Borough. The Town Centre needs enhancing/improving and I will work hard to see the planned improvements come to fruition. Residents deserve improved community safety and Policing. There is an enormous need for affordable housing provision and I will continue to encourage more Council housing and affordable housing provision.
It is a great honour and privilege to be of service to the Town and people of Bedworth and , if elected, I will ensure that the views of the residents of Bede Ward and Bedworth are voiced strongly on the Council.
I promise that, if elected, I will serve Bede Ward to the best of my ability.”
