Victory for local people in Dordon

The Planning Inspector has rejected the appeal by Punch Taverns to be allowed to proceed with their plans to demolish Dordon’slast family pub – and instead ruled that its loss would have an adverse effect on village life.

Cllr Jacky Chambers said “ After 2 years of uncertainty, this decision is great news. The village has put up a tremendous fight to protect this pub – and the fact that so many residents wrote letters of objection played an important part in this appeal.

Let us hope that Punch Taverns will now stop and think properly about the need for a community pub which serves our village and give local people a chance buy and run it as a going concern.”
