Morrison’s withdraw plan to extend delivery hours

A plan by Morrison’s to extend their delivery hours has been withdrawn following pressure from local Borough Councillor, DomFerro.

Morrison’s had submitted a planning application to extend their delivery hours so that deliveries can be made to the store between 5am and 11pm 7 days a week.

Councillor Dom Ferro said at the time “This is a bit of a kick in the teeth for local residents who fought hard to limit delivery times when the store was first built.”

Today he welcomed the news that the application had been withdrawn saying:

“This is great news for local people. I made strong representations to the Borough Council and to the public via the local radio and press. I’m glad Morrison’s took my advice and listened to the views of local residents. Planning conditions exist for a reason and this attempt to extend delivery times showed a disregard for the quality of life of local people.”
