County Councillor Chris Clark has called on Warwickshire County Council to take immediate action to ensure the safety of road users, pedestrians, and local residents on Margaret Road Atherstone, after another car accident on Tuesday resulted in a casualty.  The reports are that a car hit a wall in Margaret Road opposite the Outwoods School entrance.

Cllr Clark said,  “Concerns have been raised for some time, by local residents and the parents of the children attending Outwoods School, regarding road safety in Margaret Road.  I have been fighting to get parking restrictions and road safety improved.

“The current situation is wholly unacceptable. People have voiced their concerns about road safety in the area for well over a year and have been promised traffic calming measure and road safety improvements time and time again!  So far the County Council response has been lethargic. I have begun to wonder whether someone has to die to get them to act!

“I have been pushing for measures to be taken since I was elected in May. It is deeply regrettable that this latest accident resulted in a road casualty and I hope the man is recovering.  Warwickshire County Council needs to take action as a matter of urgency and I will push for it until the people in the area feel safe.”
